Malware Scanner Keeps Detecting New App

Every morning for the past week I get a notification: "Your Device is at Risk - Malware Scanner - "You just installed an app that cannot be currently confirmed safe..."

I have NOT installed any new apps, but I still get this notification. Why? How do I fix it? - Thanks.

System: Android - Pixel 7a

    We know the situation persists and the developers are making continuous efforts to resolve this in good time. It has been observed that after performing a scan (by pressing "Start Scan"), the notification disappears. Does this happen for you?

  • I have just begun to receive the same message, also when I have not downloaded a new app.

    Some malicious apps have a tendency to go undetected and remain on the smartphone, hidden from the screen. Kindly install Revo Uninstaller Android app from https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vsrevogroup.revouninstaller&hl=en_IN and check for any unknown apps that you are not aware of, and uninstall them.

    Additionally, you can install the VirusTotal Android app from https://play.google.com/store/search?q=virustotal&c=apps&hl=en_IN and run a scan to check if any apps are detected as malicious by the majority of other antimalware vendors, including Bitdefender. It may also help you identify any hidden apps that might be malicious and could have gone undetected by Bitdefender.

  • Thanks for the answer,
    Using REVO, I see nothing that's been installed recently that I don't recognise.
    WIth VirusTotal, I see nothing flagged as suscpisions under either user apps or system apps.

    I am now getting this message almost every day.
