Shutdown option for Full Scan

I'd like to see a 'Shutdown' tickbox to force a PC to shutdown after a Full Scan. Maybe another option to shutdown if no issues are found.

Apologies if this has already been requested but I couldn't find anything similar after a quick search.

    It seems the option is present in Antivirus -> Manager Scans -> Post Scan Actions.


  • Ah - great spot!

    The only issue I have with this method is that I don't always want to shut down after a scan. My backup software provides a dropdown option list whilst the backup is processing which provides an option to shut down after the backup.

    Yes, most likely the option should activated/reset by hand.

  • The option of automatic shut-down after scanning is a common option on every other anti-virus program that I have ever seen. Why should it be excluded from BitDefender?

    To make matters worse, my BitDefender Total Security sometimes shuts down automatically after a scan, EVEN IF I DO NOT WANT IT TO DO SO. Consequently, there is no option to disable that automatic shut-down in that case, either.

    What a glaring oversight, not to have included the automatic shut-down option and configuration option.

    Perhaps you have missed the above comment. The option to shutdown the device after a scan is completed can be found in the Antivirus tab → Manage Scans → Post Scan Actions, as illustrated in this screenshot posted by camarie:

    But like he mentioned, the option must be activated/reset by hand, so the preferences can be set prior to an actual scan and not during the scan or when this is completed.
