File Shredder
In up-to-date Windows 10 environment, File Shredder does not appear in the Recycle Bin context menu when the laptop is taken offline. As soon as I put it back online, File Shredder is available again in the Recycle Bin context menu. I can see no reason for this, as the tool is available through the desktop software if I launch the dashboard. Can you please remedy? There are many incidences where I work with sensitive files offline and want to clean my PC before going online.

Hello @HelpCCC
I thought I'd give it a try on my end. It's a Windows 10 Pro v.22H2 desktop running Total Security Build 27.0.35.137. I disabled my wireless connection and I still have the Recycle Bin context option of File Shredder. I even did a restart being disconnected from the internet, and still have the File Shredder option.
I would try running a Repair and see if that resolve it for you, otherwise, Support may need to get involved and have you send a log file, which I will let them guide you through if needed.
For Support, click on How to's and Troubleshooting and follow the prompts.
Let us know if this helped.

Why is my shredder deactivated? I cannot select which files to have Bitdefender to delete. I have had Bitdefender over 5 years. The last time I right clicked on Recycle Bin, Bitdefender deleted everything on my desktop. Now I am afraid to right click on the Recycle Bin. Please help. Will you delete all of the deleted files in the Recycle Bin for me?
Thank you for your help.

Hi @Roosem,
Can you tell us more about the alleged File Shredder disable? How did you come to the conclusion that it is disabled? The File Shredder works as described in the below article that explains how a single file can be removed, but also how to permanently delete all files that are in your Recycle Bin:
In the event the File Shredder is not working as expected, then I would recommend contacting the Technical Support Teams, as more information might be required to troubleshoot this. You can get in touch with the Bitdefender engineers by choosing one of the contact channels listed here:
State your contact reason, then choose from the available contact channels, chat, phone and email/ticket. Chat would be the fastest way to reach them.
Let us know how it goes.
