Identify Devices

I have five devices covered by Bitdefender. One of my computers just crashed and I had to replace it. Now I need to switch the new computer over to Bitdefender and delete the one I had to replace. I can't identify which of the five is the one I removed because they are all called the same thing. How do I tell them apart on the Bitdefender list?

Answers

  • Hello,

    You can likely do this one of 2 ways.

    Compare the IP address the new computer is using and/or find the MAC address the new computer has.

    Assuming this is Windows:

    • open a command prompt and type in ipconfig /all
    • find your adapter on the list and look at;
    • - "IPv4 Address" (it should be 172.x.x.x by default Bitdefender range)
    • - "Physical Address" to see the MAC address of the adapter.

    Go back to the Bitdefender portal and click on the device to see it's details.

    The device with matching IP and/or MAC address will be your new computer. Delete the old one.
