Why is my Mac running so slow?
Hello,
I have Bitdefender Antivirus for Mac, Version 9.2.0.12. Sometimes my Mac runs extremely slow when I first use it. It is almost unbearable.
I suspect this is due to Bitdefender either updating or scanning. I know how to do both of these processes manually. How do I know if Bitdefender is doing either an update or scan automatically. I want to verify if this is the reason my Mac is running slow at the time it happens.

First, make sure your device meets the system requirements. If the Mac does not meet all system requirements, Antivirus for Mac will not be installed or, if installed, it will not work properly, and will cause system slowdown and instability.
Bitdefender Antivirus for Mac offers real-time protection (Bitdefender Shield). This means that automatically updating the virus signature database (every hour) and automatically monitoring the active processes (in background). Each time the user or an application accesses a file or creates a new one, Bitdefender will monitor the process in order to block malicious codes from being executed.
Sometimes, depending on the system configuration and on the active applications, the background scan might affect the computer performance.

You both shared essentially the same information so I feel confident this will help me diagnose the issue. I do meet the system requirements, as those are not too stringent.
