Log hash of detected malware
When Bitdefeder detects a sample, it would be very helpful if the hash of the detected sample is also logged along with the detection name and location.
If the hash is logged, then it would be very easy to simply copy the hash and check it on Virustotal to learn more about the detected file. It will also make it easy to identify false positives.
Currently there is no way to know more about the file without restoring it, which might not be a good idea since BD by default adds the restored item into the exclusion.
Your competitors like ESET and Kaspersky logs hash of detected files, and even Microsoft Defender can be configured to make it log hash.

This sounds interesting. I can recall that ESET does has this feature and it would be great if bitdefender can also introduce it.

Hello @HomoSapiens,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. This reminds me of a recent thread where one of our members inquired about an exploit: https://community.bitdefender.com/en/discussion/91313/where-do-i-get-more-info-on-an-exploit-attempt
And yes, the proposal is interesting. I am passing this to our developers for analysis.

Hi @Alexandru_BD!
I see that I made this feature suggestion more than a year ago. Do you have any info whether there's any chance for this feature to be added in Bitdefender Home products?

Hello @SeriousHoax and thanks for following up on this idea.
We don't have any news regarding this, but the development teams will receive an update following your reply.
If this is something that can be implemented in the near future, we'll let you know.
