Bitdefender Blocking League of Legends

Hello.

It's been months I was having issues with the League client being too slow, laggy after every game or when the client has been minimized for a period of time. I always thought it was from Riot, but no it was Bitdefender somehow doing it.

I tried to add exception to Riot games folder, but that didn't work as well.

Whenever I turn off Bitdefender, it works fine. The main problem is with the client, it's fine when in-game. I don't know how it would be fixed, kindly help me with it. It's so irritating. I have to restart client in order to play next match…

Thank you!

    Hi @usmankhan.1996,

Glad to hear from you. What I did was, I added the league of legends.exe directly, you can add the riot client or other games which you have performance/network issue with there as well as that was what I also did based on my previous comment(i.e Honkai Star Rail, LoL, Valorant, Overwatch). And below is the screenshot of my ping and as for your reference as been getting constant stable ping

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Best Regards,

    Good Day @usmankhan.1996,

May I know where did you add the exception on? Is it on profiles or firewall? I too had this issue few months back but have done the following and I don't face lag issues or the game crashing for myself until I have done the following below. I have also attached a screenshot for you below to show you and will also list what I did to fix this.

Steps I took to fix it:

    1. Open Bitdefender Total Security App and go to the utilities tab
    2. Click the settings option under Profiles tab
    3. Turn on Activate profiles automatically
    4. Under the game profile, click configure
    5. Click games list option and add League of Legends under it
    6. Click save and run league of legends.

    Screenshot for your reference:

Apparently there is a patch on League which also just finished 2 hours back so as you can see this is what I did to resolve the issue and I hope that it helps you as well. Once the update is done, I will also update here a screen shot of my ingame ping as well with this settings for Bitdefender that I have done. I would also recommend adding other client/games like Steam/Hoyolab/EA etc to that list as you can see on my game application list as so far 5-6 months in I don't face the lag issues.

I look forward to your warm reply and also hope it helps you out too.

    Best Regards,

  • I actually added here.

But for the profile settings, which one should I actually choose? Like I run League client from desktop shortcut, if I add that shortcut is it the same or do I specifically have to add the main launcher etc? Also, would it be Riot client or League.exe file that has to be added in the game profile? Or Valorant file?
