Is anyone else considering ditching bitdefender because it’s parental control app is so poor?
there is a recurrent theme here; the parental app does not really work even on its own terms never mind from a parents point of view. It is appallingly weak on iPhones, you may have heard of them, although bitdefender doesn’t seem that aware that this brand of phone exists..
I am thinking of ditching my total security package because of it. Maybe if more of us leave they will be motivated to deliver a product that works for parents

Well, I'm not sure if I can be of help here, as long as I don't know concretely what are the problems that the user is facing and why he considers that the application is not performing well. Sure, there have been a few hiccups in the new Parental Control service since its launch, but these were all corrected in good time as far as I know, and I need to get up to date on any ongoing issues with the application. But before I do this, I need to know what exactly is not working as expected, so we can determine if this is a 'FAD' case, or an actual problem.
As for iPhones, @Mccabe you do know that Bitdefender has a dedicated product for iOS, yes?

ok so ..
The internet timer is inaccurate to the point that I am not sure it works at all.
No app activity is accounted for in overall internet time, indeed there is no control over apps at all. Since most teenagers use apps such as tictoc and instagram etc as their main means of interaction the bitdefender parental controls in iOS are effectively non existent.

Bitdefender Parental Control is not recording internet time. When I pause internet use while my child is actively using the laptop, it does not pause the internet. It does nothing. I have been having issues for several months now and will begin looking for a new internet security/parental control package.
