I have a problem with the Windows 10 Anniversary Update. It appears that this update will install automatically. If I need to uninstall BDIS 2016 prior to this update, how will I know when the update is to be installed ? And how do I stop it from automatically installing until I have uninstalled BDIS 2016 ? Many thanks

Hi I had the same problem (Windows 10 64 bit BIS 2016) As a result I looked up on the web how to disable Windows Defender. Here are the instructions that I followed: For Windows 10 To Turn On or Off Windows Defender HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender DisableAntiSpyware DWORD 0 = On 1 = Off This…

Well it still does it no specific length of time. Even after your new Build 20.0.19.1099. It is NO BIG DEAL I guess. I can not believe that no one else experiences this happening. Thanks for getting back to me. I can supply no more information on the Security Widget than all of my above posts. This has happened to me as…

Hi I have BIS 2016 (3 device) installed on a PC with Windows 10. It shows on correctly my Bitdefender Central. Under 'My Subscriptions' it shows as BIS 2016. Devices 1/3. There is also a big '+' sign. I now want to install Bitdefender 2016 on to the Windows 7 PC - using the second licence. Do I login in to my Bitdefender…

Hi I have just gone through the procedures to remove BIS2015 and to install BIS2016 on Windows 10 - 64 bit. All appears (so far) to be OK. I get a notification that 'The Windows Security Center Service is not working' I just need to ask if this is normal ? Presumably it is - because BIS2016 is in control ? Thank you a…

Hello shot-bowl, Thank you for your feedback and we do understand your concern generated by the negative feedback present in this forum. However, please also take into consideration the fact that here you will only see users that have encountered different errors. The vast number of users that have successfully upgraded…

Hiya, Windows Defender should be switched off (Bitdefender should automatically do that when it is installed). You should not be running two antivirus programs. I have just upgraded my laptop and Win Defender was turned of by BD install. Ro. Thanks Rohugh I uninstalled BDIS from Windows 10, ran the Removal tool, and…

Hi...That method worked fine for me as well. I like to run the uninstaller in safe mode and then run a registry cleaner although this may not be necessary. Good luck Thanks ozziebear Much appreciated as well

Hiya, That way worked fine for me except I used the on-line kit available here. Either on or off line should be good. Ro. Hi Rohugh Many thanks for your speedy reply. I will give it a go in a few days.

Hello shot-bowl, BD works fine on a 64 bit computer, I have used it for a long time with Win 7 64 and also with Win 8.1 without any problems. To find the version details, right click the BD icon in the system tray and choose "About", the info is there. For details of updates etc, open the BD IS window by double left…

Hello, All the downloads are listed at the top of this forum in the pinned topic. Your license can be used to validate the new version. If you only covered for one device you will have to uninstall the previous one, if you are covered for more you are good to go. Ro. Thank you for your prompt reply.

BIS 2015 changes to the Game profile when I open my mail client (eM Client). Please Bitdefender, a mail client is not a game! Is there a way to whitelist applications for the Profiles module? I also use eM Client Same issue BDTS profile goes into Game Mode. I am not concerned, provided that security is not at risk ?

Thank you for the replies Rohugh and antikythera- much appreciated.

Hi Georgia Thank you for your response. Very much appreciated !

Hello ? If I click on the 'continue to safe pay' it appears to work. Is this how the program is supposed to work ? Or is there something that I am missing ?
-
@shot-bowl - nice quote but did you actually want to ask anything or need help? Thank you for asking Antikythera I could not get my reply to work - but eventually replied successfully. Thanks for asking again.

Hi, I use Bitdefender Internet Security 2014 and I've only recently installed it so I'm still finding my way round it. Today I have been surfing the internet using IE10 when a message came up at the bottom of the screen saying it had modified the page to prevent cross site scripting. I am confused as this has never…

This is what I could find from Christian in another topic. Hope this helps. http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=31890 Thank you Charyb This is helpful, but I still am confused, that if it is set to off, does it mean that BD is totally susceptible to malware attacks to tamper with BD systems ?

if your current licence is still valid the answer is yes you qualify for free upgrade. Thank you for your prompt reply.

Hi shot-bowl Unless you're fast track surfing down "malware alley", you will be just fine So no worries, it may just be something on Bitdefenders servers end. You can run a System Scan though, just for your peace of mind, unless you already have. Cheers, Columbo Thanks Columbo Yes - that is what I did and all is fine.…

Hello shot-bowl, I've tried the registry cleaner you are using and I must say that this isn't a registry cleaner for beginners. You can can damage your registry when you let this tool fix everything. I would advise that you let this registry scanners run these are safe to use in other words they aren't that aggressive.…

Hello shot-bowl, Did you first right clicked on the red BitDefender icon near the system clock and pressed on exit? You really need to do otherwise the BitDefender selfprotection service can cause conflicts so certain registry keys can't be uninstalled. What registry cleaner did you used? Some tools are too aggressive.…
