Bitdefender Issue – Slowing Down My System?

Hey everyone,

I've been using Bitdefender Total Security for about 6 months now, and recently, I've noticed my system has been running slower than usual. I've got a pretty decent setup (i7, 16GB RAM, SSD), so it shouldn't be a hardware issue.

It seems like my startup is taking longer, and I sometimes experience random system slowdowns when Bitdefender is performing a scan or running in the background. Has anyone else experienced something similar with Bitdefender? Could it be a setting I need to adjust, or maybe a conflict with another program?

I’ve already tried some basic troubleshooting like disabling certain features (like Safe Files and Anti-Tracker), but it’s still not helping much. Any advice or tweaks I could try before I consider switching AV software?

Before anyone answers your query, can you explain the reason for attaching the PDF, whose content does not relate to your query at all and redirects to a third-party website?

In regard to your follow up questions, there are plenty of comparisons out there made by reputable testers such as AV-Test, AV-Comparatives, etc. Independent testers usually compare system performance figures as well.

There are no known issues with Bitdefender and Windows 11.

It's November and I've had this problem for months. The exercising of the disk slows down everything else and there's no way to stop it.
