VPN blocking printer from printing
Got a new laptop Dell Inspiron 15 Laptop installed the my printer and Bitdefender and Bitdefender VPN. Had the same on my old laptop and I could print with VPN connected. On the New laptop with VPN connected it will not print. If I disconnect the VPN no problems printing. What could be wrong with the settings? Oh the printer is a Cannon 6000.

Hello @dennismanto,
The issue might be due to the VPN blocking local network communication between your laptop and the printer.
First, ensure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your laptop. If it’s on a different network, the VPN may block communication. The Bitdefender VPN also offers a feature called split tunneling, which allows certain applications or traffic (like printing) to bypass the VPN. Configure the VPN to allow printing traffic to bypass. Then there's another thing you can try, from the Firewall tab:
- Go to Network Adapters tab and set the network type to Home/Office using the drop-down menu near its name
- Then, from the same Firewall Tab, click on Settings from the top-right , then, for the network you're currently connected to, uncheck the 'stealth mode' button to disable it.
Also, make sure the printer drivers are up to date. Visit Canon's official website to download the latest drivers.
Let us know what worked for you.
