SecurePass - Still Needs Work!

I had been a satisfied Password Manager user for over a year. Saw the hype around SecurePass and started using it a month ago. I am always willing to try new stuff in the hopes that it will make things a little easier for me.😄. I have been a Windows Insider for years!

So far, SecurePass has not lived up to that expectation😒:

The lack of autolock on Windows is still an issue. SecurePass still allowed me to access my passords after a reboot without a login to SecurePass. The Android app is a little better, but the autolock is still not consistent.

The app is slow to recognize the login screens on almost every website - banks, airlines, etc.. A screen refersh might force it to respond. Password Manager is quick to offer the necessary info.

SecurePass does not seem to recongize logins to new sites and offer to save passwords like Password Manager.

I am willing to provide feedback to flag minor issues, but, at this point, I feel that SecurePass is still at the Alpha test stage.

As mentioned, I have used SecurePass over the past month. I added some new sites to the Vault. Given my recent experieinces I went back and added that info to Password Manager. Will go back to Password Manager until SecurePass become more ready for primetime.

Bitdefender SecurePass is still in development and undergoing improvements, with new features being added. This is the only information currently available, even from Bitdefender support. For now, I am using Bitdefender Password Manager until it ceases to function completely, after which I will switch to Bitdefender SecurePass entirely.

The issues you have pointed out are already on the radar of Bitdefender developers, as they have been reported previously. However, implementing changes and upgrades takes time. Each upgrade must first be thoroughly studied and then gain approval from various departments before the Bitdefender developers can make it publicly available.

  • Hi, all. I'm a basic user, trying to figure out how to deal with a problem. Any suggestions would be most welcome!

I also have been happy with PasswordManager but when I tried to access my account today I kept getting an error message that said to contact support. I did that and was clumsily guided by AI to reinstall PM. When I tried to do that, PM was no longer available. AI told me SecurePass was the new PM and that I should install it. I did that and along the way got a prompt on BD Central to "upgrade" to SP, which I did. When I finally got into SP, my vault was empty. AI asked me if I had exported my vault data, which I had not. AI basicaly said, too bad cuz I can't help you (ok, lesson learned, don't trust that everything will go as you hope when getting chat help!). I asked AI to pass me to a real person who, after having me reinstall SP, said she would "escalate this situation to my colleagues who handle these cases." I got the auto em that the ticket was created but no response beyond that for the last 4 hours.

  • I was happy with Password Manager. Now that I have Securepass, it is a mess. I think this app wasn't ready to be commercialize. The autofill, the update of the password and no automatic logout when you quit window, it is the basic for a password manager. Bitdefender should have advised us that it was a beta version.
