Hi everyone,

My bitdefender updated to version 27.0.49.249, I noticed 2 issues with so far.

After the update installed I rebooted my PC and then after about an hour or so the tray icon showed a little yellow exclamation mark, when hovering my mouse over the tray icon I got a message saying "Action required: Add a valid payment method and continue to enjoy uninterrupted security." and in the app it also showed on top "action required"

I rebooted my PC and haven't gotten the error again so far, I've never had this type of error before.

Second issue (very minor), when opening the bitdefender application window it takes a second to load the available devices on the bottom of the window, normally it loads immediately now it takes a second then shows how many device slots I still have available on my account.

This lag only started directly after the update on several of my PC's.

Same happened to me after the 27.0.49.249 update. Even when adding a valid payment method the message returns.

Same problem here. The "Attention Action Required" notification doesn't go away even after using all 3 different payment methods and confirmed them. Had to pay €1 to add one of them as well, still nothing.

Hi, it can take up to 24 hours for the information that a payment method was added to propagate in the app.

If more than 24 hours have passed with no change, please let us know.

Hi everyone,

After rebooting my PC yesterday I didn't have the issue again until I rebooted today and then after about 50 minutes the error came back, rebooting again fixed it at least for now.

After rebooting my PC it fixes it for a few hours but then the error comes back. The bitdefender total security still shows as green though so I assume this means that even with the "Action required: Add a valid payment method and continue to enjoy uninterrupted security" error my PC is still protected?

Or should I reboot my PC every time I get this error?

Same as Petersl the notification returns a couple of hours after reboot. Rhymesss could be right.

I have the same error I did change the payment method already 4 days ago(and in the payment method only says my name and nothing more no info at all) but still got the error, I think it is really a bug in the software

Hi everyone,

Today my bitdefender total security successfully blocked spam and untrusted that I got in a spam e-mail, it blocked this when I had the "Action required: Add a valid payment method and continue to enjoy uninterrupted security" error so this means that even with the error the bitdefender still protects the PC.

I guess this is just a visual bug then?

Same issue, subscription is valid through July, have two more seats available on my current subscription, but still have the notification about requiring a valid payment option. Seems to be a visual bug indeed, but quite annoying.

I can confirm that bitdefender version 27.0.49.250 has indeed fixed the "Action required: Add a valid payment method and continue to enjoy uninterrupted security" issue as well on all of my windows 10 PC's and my windows 11 PC.

This is very helpful, as we still have some users in the German community who are still expriencing this, there's an entire thread on this topic there, and the developers are doing their very best to resolve this once and for all. So, it's good to get some feedback on this.

I got an error on my windows 11 laptop saying that my subscription was expired and in central I got a notification that a configuration issue was detected on that PC.

It fixed itself after rebooting.

This error only displayed a few hours after starting my PC so I guess it could have been a issue while updating because I haven't gotten the error since then.

I've reset my windows 10 laptop by restoring an windows image from December 2023. This one had my bitdefender total security displaying an error "account expired" which make sense as when I've made this image my account was only valid until 2024 so I logged in to the app and updated my bitdefender.

The next day however I got the same error "account expired" when booting my other windows 10 desktop PC, I then rebooted the PC but bitdefender did not load on startup, no tray icon or widget and the bitdefender processes where not running.

The bitdefender agent in the taskmanager "startup" tab was set to disabled, after re-enabling and then rebooting the bitdefender started up as normal with no error.

What could have caused the error "account expired" and the bitdefender agent being set to disabled on startup?

Could this have been caused by me restoring an old image on my laptop and then having to log back in to my account in the bitdefender app? Can one device that's connected to my central effect an other device that's connected to my central like this?

As this happened about the same time so could this be the cause for my desktop having this error or is it coincidence that this just happened about at the same time? I've had this "account expired" error on my windows 11 laptop in April but that fixed itself after reboot and the bitdefender agent was still set to enabled in the taskmanager and I have not had this issue reoccurring on my windows 11 laptop since then.

Is this a bug of some sort? What could be the cause of my windows 10 desktop having this error right after I've restored an windows image on my windows 10 laptop? Note that these 2 PC's are not on the same network and are on different locations.
