Hello all,

Starting with the latest build version 20.0.26.1418 released last week you now have the option to prevent the hosts entries from being commented out by Bitdefender 2016. You no longer have to change the hosts attribute to read-only.

In the main Bitdefender interface click on the human shaped icon (from the upper right corner) and choose General Settings > Advanced tab > "Scan hosts file" button.

I now declare this topic closed.

the Described is in The programm but it does not stop bitdefender from Changing my hosts file!

I deactivated it as described, then Changed my hosts File, then Restarted the PC, after Restart my hosts file was again modified by Bitdefender.

to prevent this i had to (again) revoke all write rights to the files in the etc folder.

I'm using Bitdefender Total Security 2016

and i assume this looks like a bug...
