Upgrade Uninstall for 2017 Stuck


Uninstall step from 2016 to 2017 was taking hours.  I have now tried to RESTART the computer and this, too, is taking hours.  I have already upgraded on another computer with same internet speed successfully.  Can I leave it in the RESTART mode to see if it will clean up after itself?  Again, we are talking HOURS.  Windows 10 does not like interruptions and I do not want to have to reinstall the O/S.  Please advise if I can just wait this out???
