bitdefender charging me for renewal even though I bought 3 years subscription


So I got an email telling me that my current subscription has automatically renewed and I was charged 40$, with zero email notifying me of this beforehand. But just last month, when I learned that I only had 1 month left, I went and bought 3 years' subscription. I didn't know about the existence of auto-renewal that would charge me without notification, and even if I did, I would have thought renewing myself beforehand would naturally cancel any system renewal.


Has anyone encountered this before? How did you solve the issue?
