Carbon Copy Cloner and Bitdefender on an iMac running Mojave

I have been using Bitdefender for a few months and I have noticed when I do my weekly back up to my Toshiba External Drive, via Carbon Copy Cloner, Bitdefender appears to be scanning both the actual back up as it is being done and then, presumably, the entire Toshiba Hard Drive. 


I have ticked the 'Don't scan content in Back Up" box so I don't understand why Bitdefender is doing all this scanning and making the Back Up take so long. Can you advise if I have done something wrong or need to change something ? Thank you !

    Bitdefender should not scan the backups. The issue you have described it is already under investigation by our development team. 


    For now, we recommend you to exclude the backups from scanning.
