slow full scan

Scan speeds are dependent on many factors, including CPU, type, and speed, of disk being scanned, whether a scan has been previously performed, available RAM, disk health, etc.
I have a new Dell XPS 8930 desktop, with 135 GB of programs and data. Bitdefender scans the OS drive (NVMe.M2 ITB Intel SSD) and also about 100 GB on an internal SATA hard disk drive (7,200 RPM). I do system scans monthly. It take BDTS about 45 to 50 minutes to scan all of that. The computer has an i7 processor.
I have a ten-year old Dell XPS Studio 1645 laptop computer, 500 GB HDD (5,400 RPM) also with an i7 processor, but slower than the desktop, and that computer has about 60 GB of data and programs. Generally, BDTS takes about one hour 45 minutes to scan that computer.
I once had a client's computer here, with an old slow Celeron processor and 2 GB of RAM, and the scan ran for 36 hours!
As long as the scanned file count is increasing, just be patient.
Have a great day.

thanks, it's taken just under 4 hours this morning, all clear on an AMD A8 with 8Gb ram0 -
As Garioch7 has mentioned, the scan speed depends on many factors, however, in your case it seems like the antivirus is functional.0
