Sticky Password & Bitdefender - Strange activities

Hello!

I use Sticky Password and Bitdefender Total Security. When I log in my Sticky Password software, I get BitDefender notifications that Sticky Password wants to access https://program-ace.com/ and https://karanpc.com/ .

I am not sure what is going on, that's why I am submitting some pictures. Feel free to contact me for more info.

https://karanpc.com/ is a malicious websites which serves cracked software of the original software. The software downloaded from the stated website consists of cracks & keygens which are used to bypass normal activation of the original software. This is against the privacy rules of any software vendor.

As far as https://program-ace.com/ is considered, it is a phishing website.

If you want, you can set exclusion of the stated website in bitdefender but currently the website detection will stay and not be removed.

  • I did not use any of these sites, but what confuses me is why is StickyPassword process trying to access them?

Is this password manager maybe compromised, should I switch to another?

BTW, Bitdefender shows no threats when I do a full system scan.

Bitdefender will not show any threat on full scan because there is no file that is malicious, it is only when the sticky password is attempting to connect to malicious website the, bitdefender is blocking the connection. So the question here is not related to any file being malicious but the website being malicious , and websites are not files that get stored on PC, they have to be accessed via a web browser or any of the application can do on its own, like bitdefender updating its malware database connects to bitdefender server.

To narrow down, you should contact sticky password support (https://www.stickypassword.com/contact) as to why their product is connecting to those website. Bitdefender on the other hand blocked you from getting connected to those malicious website.

In the Sticky Password Settings dialog select Ignored Apps section, then click the Add button and select the application executable file.
