How does BitDefender ransomware protection work exactly?

Please don't refer me to a BitDefender url, I've already scoured their site and all I find is vague explanations to how their ransomware protection works. They say they "back up" your files in their explanation, but nothing really more. So, if I turn on this module and point it to my 350Gb drive with my data, photos & videos, it will literally make a copy of each file? If anyone with any in depth knowledge can provide some details, I'd really like to read them to understand this before I turn it loose (on).

  • I have been trying to find that also. If the backups are local, won't they be attacked too? Or are they taken to a Bitdefender cloud -- and if so, how they are secured there?
