Since it's a module and part of the security software and tied in with Safepay, the only thing you can do is disable it in the Wallets/Password Manager/Settings. For now, I wouldn't uninstall the browser extensions but disable and unpin them, just in case. You can also replace that Quick action panel on the dashboard with another app that you may want to use or see there.

    Hi Scott

The problem is, I don't seem to have an option of 'going into' Wallets any more.

If you click on Password Manager/Settings do you get this? I'm running a Trial Version of Total Security, thus the Not for Resale on the top of the 3rd image ;) My version is the same as yours 26.0.12.56. I also have the paid version of PM.

Thats' strange. I also have Bitdefender Total Security build 26.0.12.56 installed on my laptop, but for me there is an option for switching Password Manager (Wallet / Wallets) on or off. And from the picture you posted, i can see that you don't have that button for switching on/off.

I think you should contact Bitdefender Consumer Support: https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/

  • When I go into Password Manager Settings, I get:

@Gjoksi79_ Thanks for confirming that on your end, as I was wondering about that, too.

That's interesting, Mike. Maybe even though ours are the same build numbers, it looks like they have incorporated a different layout with the newer download version?

I wouldn't run a repair or contact support yet, as your image looks updated, an informative panel. I am going to buy and download Total Security in about an hour (really good promotion price) and see what I get. Otherwise, maybe Alexandru will update us on this?

  • I guess they are both (Wallet and Password Managager) linked to the same Bitdefender Account. So, maybe the reason is that after installing and/or buying Password Manager (the standalone application), the Wallet module in Total Security is disabled by default. Just forgot to mention that i have Bitdefender Total Security paid version and Password Manager (the standalone application) is NOT installed on my laptop.

  • What's bugging me is that I have to sign into Wallet every time I start my PC

And the plot thickens ;) My new, paid version install.

The offers and notifications are usually shown on the Dashboard, as far as I know, maybe uncheck those in Settings, restart your TS and see what you get. Otherwise, I think Gjoksi79 is right, contact support, or try running a repair. Maybe Alexandru will have some insight for us?

  • Hello guys!

Sorry, I'm late for the party here 😃

@MikeTheMonster this is the expected behavior, as you are using Premium Security and this package includes the Password Manager. Thus, the Wallet function will no longer be available, as it's being replaced by a superior product. You can, of course, import the passwords from the previous Wallet into the Password Manager, but if you have already imported your passwords and set the extension in place, no further action is required.

I admit there is indeed an issue with the terminology here, as the Wallet should be simply displayed as "Wallet", instead of "Password Manager", because it has no relation with the Password Manager whatsover. This is being addressed by the developers in the next release.

So, to answer your question, the Wallet function will still be displayed, but it won't allow any other actions apart from an import, if necessary.

    Best regards.

@Alexandru_BD thank you for the post in helping us understand this :)

Why is it that when I purchased Total Security (from the trial version) in the same time frame as Mike, that I did not get the same information in that panel (post#6)? Is it because I was already running Password Manager and my Central account picked up on that, synced?

Will Wallet in Safepay eventually be replaced by PM and its icon?

  • @Scott yes, it synced as the scenario was different.

Well, I can tell you that supporting the Password Manager extension in Safepay is on the developer's list, but it's an early stage and I'm not sure if and when it will move forward.

    Cheers.
