What is wrong with Bitdefender?

Having read which? magazine's recommendation this afternoon I purchased and installed Bitdefender and that is when the problems started. Sending emails became a nightmare as previously used email addresses were rejected. Clicking onto anything now takes far longer than before whether it is emails or websites. What on earth is going on?
