Does Folder exception except all sub-folders?
Hi, When I add a Folder in the antivirus exceptions, does it also exclude all the sub-folders, or do I need to except them one by one?

There are two types of exception, one is related to real time protection and other is related to behaviour blocking/ advanced threat defense.
If you add a particular folder in antivirus exception, all the files and sub folder under that particular folder are set as exclusion.
To set an exclusion in advanced threat defense in bitdefender you need to select executable files (.exe)only and that too one by one. Kindly have a look at below stated link as to how to setup exclusion in advanced threat defense.

As I told you earlier, there are two types of exception.
You can set exclusion of drive E:\ in antivirus module of bitdefender. This will stop real time protection of bitdefender from scanning that drive. But this will not hold true for advanced threat defense. For advanced threat defense you cannot set a drive as an exclusion, instead you have to select particular executable files (.exe) in the drive E:\ and set those files as exclusion one by one.
Kindly check the below stated link as how the advanced threat defense exclusion works.
