Bitdefender Firewall blocks access to remote computers

I use explorer on a PC to access my remote server, using \\servername.

Bitdefender firewall blocks this.

I have to disable the firewall to access my server.

I have allowed explorer.exe firewall access, but this does not help.

What am I doing wrong?

    Hi Brian F,

You do nothing wrong, dear member. There are always some small issues here and there.

Maybe this process could help ?

  • Hi Liobet, thanks! I thought that would be the case, but I have already allowed explorer.exe through the firewall. I am not sure what other application I would have to allow.

  • Hello @Brian F,

Depending on the network you are connected to, the firewall may block the connection between your system and another device such as another PC, a scanner, or a printer. I would recommend setting a firewall rule to allow the IP address by following the steps from this article:

Let us know if this worked for you.
