High memory usuage

Hi,

My Bitdefender Total security uses over 4gig of RAM straight from a fresh boot. No scans are running and my pc is running optimally. I have the latest Windows 11, all updates and since a month ago this memory usage and CPU are sky high.

Please advise any solutions as it is causing my PC to be laggy.

I have 32GB RAM, Intel Core i7 ,7700ghz Geforce 2080, and high-end pc with nvme drives.

See if this member's resolution helps. Even though his system was running Windows 10, maybe an uninstall/reinstall will work for you as well.

Bitdefender Virus shield is using 43% of my windows 11 computer's memory and I now can't open any applications. The chat was useless, waiting 45 minutes and still didn't get to talk to anyone on the phone, and I've tried ALL troubleshooting options and nothing works. At this point I want at least a partial refund and to be rid of this device ruining software.

Probably the response timeframe increased during that period, since there was a Bank holiday at the time and I assume not all teams were working at full capacity. Have you tried to contact them again recently and does the issue persist for you? Have a look at this article as well, some users found it helpful in this scenario:
