Repeated update error
Hi,
(Mac OS 10.13) Since Apr. 1 BitDefender has not been able to update. I get error code -100. If I click "Update" in the error log, I get the pop-up
"Updating threat information" / "Turn BitDefender Shield on to enable automatic updates".
(The BitDefender icon in the menu bar seems to indicate that the BD Shield is on -It shows the "Turn Off BitDefender Shield" option).
After clicking "Update" in the log message, nothing happens. The progress bar shows no progress. If I click "Cancel" BitDefender becomes irresponsive. If I try to "Force Quit" from the Apple Menu, It states that BitDefender is not responding. If I do click to force quit it, the GUI remains on the screen but BitDefender does not show in the "Force Quit" window.
If I shutdown and restart the computer, and try to turn BitDefender Shield off (to try turning it on again), BD does not turn off.
What can I do? (Short of uninstalling and reinstalling)

If the issue persists, reinstall Antivirus for Mac by following the steps from this article:
During the installation, the old Bitdefender app is automatically uninstalled.
