Remote access requestes after installation of Bitdefender
I installed a trial version of Bitdefender on 2 windows PCs (home), and since then (2nd May) I have received notices from my "Event Guard", which is a light home protection system supplied by the internet service provider (at the router level), that, until now, May 9th, there have been blocked 45 attempts for remote access (IPs in France, Hong Kong, Russia,….). Since I have never received these warnings before, can you explain why I am receiving them now, after installation of the anti-virus? Are these things related? Thank you.

The installation of Bitdefender on your PCs might have increased the security settings, which could be why you’re seeing these notifications now. Bitdefender has a built-in firewall that can block certain types of remote connections. This could be why your “Event Guard” is notifying you about blocked attempts for remote access.
However, it’s important to note that these blocked attempts might not necessarily be malicious. They could be routine scans by various internet entities or automated bots. The fact that they are being blocked means that your security systems are working as intended.
You can check the link below for instructions on how to allow an app through Bitdefender firewall.
