Password Manager: Allow generated password to be copied

When providing a password to logon to a new site, Password Manager has a useful feature to generate a strong password for you - BUT I DON'T use it! Because I can't find a way to copy the password to clipboard, and password manager doesn't always recognise the logon and offer to save it, which then leaves me with a new logon which I don't have a record of the password for - my only option is to immediately reset the password.

At least if I could copy the password to clipboard, I could set it up in Password Manager automatically if PM fails to recognise the logon. Better still, it should automatically copy to clipboard.

Hmmmm, if I just click on the generated password it says it's copied to the clipboard and I verified it is. 🤔 I'm using the Mac version with Safari.

  • As of 11/05/2024, I am using the Password Manager on a Windows machine with the Chrome extension. I am finding it very frustrating that a feature so fundamental has not yet been implemented, despite its apparent necessity. Could you provide an ETA for when this will be available? Thank you.

    CASE 1:

Well, when creating an account, you will need to click on 'Use Password,' and it will input the generated password into the respective section. The one-click copy password will not work in this case.

    CASE 2 (Part 1):

Now, in the second case, while you are on the account signup page, you can click on the password manager extension. Once you generate the password and click on it, it will be copied.

    CASE 2 (Part 2):

But this case also has its drawbacks because if you click on 'Use Password,' it will provide an option to save the account in the Bitdefender Password Manager without the password being added in the account sign-up password section.

While this may sound a bit weird, this is how it works currently.

@camarie, @Alexandru_BD, can you figure out if this is the case on your end as well? Additionally, how can the Bitdefender Password Manager offer to save account details before the account has even been created?
