I Can't Access a Website. How Do I Make Bitdefender Stop Blocking Access?
I am trying to access a website (myseoauditor.com). When I try using the Brave browser, Bitdefender blocks the access, and I get this error:
ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED
When I try using a different browser, it works. Why is this happening? Also, I've added the site to my online threat protection exceptions, but it still doesn't work.
When I turn off Bitdefender, I can access the site in Brave.

Kindly check if the following steps help you:
1) Open the Run command and execute the following commands one by one:
temp – delete all the files in the folder.
%temp% – delete all the files in the folder.
prefetch – delete all the files in the folder.
2) Run Disk Cleanup using this guide:
3) Reset the Windows host file to default. You can find instructions here:
4) Reset Brave browser to default: https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/articles/360017903152-How-do-I-reset-Brave-settings-to-default
If the issue persists, try disabling the encrypted web scan in Bitdefender.
Open Bitdefender. Go to Protection → Online Threat Prevention → Settings → turn OFF Encrypted web scan
- Bitdefender's Encrypted web scan feature scans HTTPS traffic to detect threats, but it can sometimes interfere with certain websites or browsers.
- By turning OFF Encrypted web scan, you're allowing Bitdefender to trust the encryption and not scan the traffic, which might resolve the connection issue.
If the issue still persists, kindly contact Bitdefender support by visiting

Hi @IceHound,
Please do let us know if turning OFF 'Encrypted web scan' solved the issue temporarily, as there have been some reported faults with this feature lately, particularly issues related to HTTPS scanning and encrypted web traffic that are currently being investigated by the developers.
Thanks
