Do I need to re-install Total Security after downgrading from Premium to Total?

My Premium Security expires tomorrow and I didn’t really use the VPN and I found a good deal on Total Security so I purchased that instead of renewing. Central seems to be telling me I need to download and install Total Security (again). But I’m already running Total Security. I activated the new subscription and it shows up as “not installed”. When I click “install” it downloads it. Can I not just transfer the subscription? (I did plug in the activation code on the program itself and it says the subscription is already active but it’s still not showing up in Total Security.

    Hello.
    You need to reallocate ALL your devices to the new Bitdefender Total Security subscription, by following these steps:


    At the end, don't forget to stop the auto-renewal for the old Bitdefender Premium Security subscription, by following these steps:


    Just follow the steps as described in Method 1, because some users in the past reported that the steps from Method 2 didn't stop the auto-renewal.
    From my personal experience, Method 1 did and still does the job for stopping the auto-renewal.
