GitHub Desktop is barely usable, until Bitdefender is disabled.

I have a Bitdefender Total Security subscription for quite some time now.

GitHub Desktop performance used to be good but now has become terrible; the software hangs for about 30 seconds or so for almost any operation which makes it really unpractical to use.

I've asked them about the problem, they suggested to turn the antivirus off which I've tried and that worked immediately.

The thing is, things used to work perfectly with Bitdefender enabled for years...

I am a little bit out of ideas as on what could be wrong with Bitdefender, do you have any suggestions as on what settings in Bitdefender could be causing this massive slowdown?

Note: Since this tool is old and not updated anymore for newly evolved rootkits, so it is recommended to make use of bitdefender consumer products to get up to date protection.
