Why does BD block access to a bank's URL but allows access to it through VPN?

As i don't use their VPN product, for the VPN part of the question, you should wait a response from the true VPN expert @Alexandru_BD.
For the BD blocking access to a website part of the question:
- You can click “I understand the risks, take me there anyway” at the bottom of the warning that appears on the blocked website
- You can report the URL as false positive, by following these steps:

- You can add the legitimate website to the Exceptions list, by following these steps:
https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/1519/

Thanks for the prompt reply. When I attempted to access the bank's login site, BD blocked it, showing a completely different URL than that of the bank. As I said in the question, going through the VPN allowed me access. I just tried the same web site again without VPN, and had no problem accessing the site. Strange!
