Can on demand scan with malwarebytes conflict with bitdefender and crash some windows process?

Options

Had wierd experience when I was scanning with malwarebytes as on demand scanner on my pc. I alt tab from my game while scan was scanning and as soon as I alt tab to desktop I notice my taskbar was semifrozen some animations were working some not and clicks were not functioning as normal. Could this be sign of conflict?

    Hello @tokuhavo

As long as you're using the Free version of MBAM, you should be fine. But, it just may have been overlapping scans by BD as well, possibly causing an issue? Try disabling in Bitdefender /Protection/Antivirus open/Advanced/ and disable BD Shield. Do the same with Advanced Threat Defense → Protection/ATD open/Settings and disable ATD. Try running the MBAM scan again and see if anything happens with the taskbar. Remember to re-enable your protection.

Who knows, maybe MBAM had an issue with the game being open while running its scan? But again, in this case with what was running in the background (your game), could have been MBAM scanning and BD scanning what MBAM was scanning, accessing.

And with the free version of Malwarebytes, I would disable it from startup, just to make sure there isn't any eventual conflict with BD "seeing" it.

    Cheers.

Ohh okay, thanks for this answear. Yeah I dont use MB 24/7 just as on demand scan sometimes. What happened was that the game was running I just alt tab from it when MB was doing the scan and the bug happened. I didnt thought about that maybe bitdefender shield could have also acces something MB was just scanning and that could cause the issue. Thank you, I was scared and cautious it could be some malicious stuff going on but am probably really just paranoid.

Nope, you weren't being paranoid, just careful. It was a good question asked, and hopefully that solves it for you :)

Am sorry to bother, I have one last question that maybe you could know answear to. Is it possible that bitdefender shield scan app when u reopen the app window. Lets say I have the game or any other app running with icon on taskbar but minimized I click on it to open the game/app window and bitdefender does the scan of the app even tho its running in the background whole time and just the window was minimized? Because that would explain it all. Thank you!
