Hi Clapton, A bit overdue but here are my answers to your questions: 1 - Can we trust all these so called VPN type claims that are built into all these other big corporate companies products, companies that are not security companies to begin with. Are they really true VPN protection as they claim or is big brother still…

Greetings Roger, I am sorry you are experiencing this issue, let's see what we can do to help. Can you share a couple more details to help us identify a possible cause? We're interested in what operating system you are using, device type and model. Does this happen for every connection attempt or from time to time? Is…

@WyldThang - If the manual Deep Scan finished properly there's no reason why the scheduled scan won't work. Thank's for the feedback.
-
A few hours ago we released an update meant to address the issue posted in this topic. I'd like to ask everyone that has encountered this issue to update BitDefender and try a new scan, then post the results here. Thank you for your cooperation, Florin

@BitDestroyer - >try to restore from Safe Mode, it should work properly.

@Lost_n_Confused - > the quarantine files are here C:\Users\All Users\BitDefender\Desktop\Quarantine , but they are encrypted. You could, at most, copy that entire folder and use it when you reinstall BitDefender. @Daktari - >most Windows files restore themselves automatically, that's why you cannot restore some of them,…

@ mek -> the patch that will restore the quarantined files will be available in a couple of hours most likely.
-
@ Mike B. - > This kind of event provides a great insight on what not to, so I'm pretty sure that something like this will not happen again.
-
@juvesteve - if there are no personal files in the quarantine you can empty it. And, if you have the latest update, you should turn on the Realtime Protection. @WhiteRabbit Creative - is the update module still working? If not, keep the RTP disabled, go to the Quarantine tab and try to restore the livesrv.exe process. Go…

The update was released so that no other computers be affected. However, for the users that have been affected, we will release a patch shortly that will solve the issue.
-
@ noisymunk: Please try a restore in Safe Mode @ daktari: Please go straight to step 4 and try to update BitDefender

Hi there, What applications do you have installed that run at startup? I suspect you have ZoneAlarm on your PC. Or, do you have any external devices connected? After 30 minutes are you able to operate on the PC? If you disable the Realtime Protection permanently and then reboot the PC does the issue still occur? Thanks,…

Hello all, I would need to know: 1. The number of threads of the vsserv.exe process(normal value is above 53) 2. If you have Nero 7 installed (if you do, remove it temporarily and check if that works) 3. If you have other security solutions. Thanks, Florin
-
Hi there, Normally it is recommended to use only one security solution on your PC. There are cases when you can install and properly use more than one, but sooner or later conflicts will appear. Thanks, Florin
-
Hi there, This should normally fix the issue: 1. Reboot in Safe Mode. 2. Go to Start->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Services. 3. Doubleclick on BitDefender Virus Shield and select the startup type Manual. 4. Reboot in Normal Mode. 5. Doubleclick on your LAN in the corner right. 6. Click on Install->Service. 7.…

Hi there, If the issue is indeed caused by the Antiphishing toolbar then it will be fixed in the next major product update scheduled for the end of March. Unfortunately you will need to bear with it for a couple of weeks. Thanks, Fiona

Hi there, I would like to know the version of BitDefender you both have: Rightclick on the BitDefender tray icon and select About. I am interested in the build. Thanks, Florin
-
Hi there, You said that you reached the point where it asked for the key. This means it was installed this time. I would like to know, step by step, what happened afterwards. Screenshots would be relevant as well. There is no need to consider a format, it is never an option. The issue will be solved as soon as we determine…

Hi there, Normally this article should help you: http://kb.bitdefender.com/KB391 If not, I will need you to browse to C:\Program Files\Common Files\BitDefender\BitDefender Firewall and open the netsf.inf file. Tell me what the DriverVer date is. Thanks, Florin

Hi there, Please switch to the Advanced View and then go to the Update tab. I will need to know if the module is greyed out. Also, please click on Update Now and let me know if it shows you an error message or nothing happens. If the tab is greyed out you will fix it with the steps in this article:…

Hi there, First we need to determine if this is caused by BitDefender, and from your description I kind of doubt it. 1. Reboot the PC in Safe Mode.(notice if the same hang occurs) 2. Go to Start->Run. Type services.msc and press Enter. 3. Doublclick on the BitDefender Virus Shield. Set it's startup type to Manual. 4.…
