Sharing a SecurePass element is insecure

I've tried sharing a Secure Pass element, and I don't understand where the security is. When you click the link, the shared account information appears in the browser, including the password, which can be copied and pasted. So, what's the point of setting a time limit and limiting the number of times the link can be used?

  • When you share a Secure Pass element via Bitdefender SecurePass, the account details—including the password—are displayed in your browser for ease of access. However, the security isn’t in hiding the password at the moment of viewing; it’s in limiting how long and how many times that information can be accessed. By setting a time limit and usage limit, Bitdefender SecurePass ensures that even if the link is intercepted or accidentally forwarded, it remains valid only for a very short period or a limited number of uses, thereby reducing the risk of unauthorized access. This design is meant for one-off sharing scenarios between trusted parties, where the temporary nature of the link minimizes potential exposure without compromising overall convenience.
