Had it installed for 2 days and I'm already uninstalling.

This antivirus is so annoying. Let's go through the issues one by one:

  1. I start a scan and I go to play a game. Notifications keep unfocusing my game and ruining my experience. I STOP the scan and close the window. What do I get? MORE NOTIFICATIONS. I don't care that you found some virus, let me enjoy my game for god's sake! I open Bitdefender again and I open the scan thing to find it STILL RUNNING. I then stop it AGAIN.
  2. I use roblox exploits which are false positives for all antiviruses, so I put them as exceptions. EXCEPT THAT EXCEPTIONS APPARENTLY DON'T MATTER. I place it as an exception AND THE THING KEEPS DELETING THEM!
  3. The notifications. YOU PHYSICALLY CANNOT STOP THE NOTIFICATIONS. I have tried EVERYTHING. EVERY SETTING. THE WORST PART? THEY UNFOCUS ANY WINDOW YOU'RE ON.

Anyways, that's all for my rant. I hope I'm not the only one uncovering these issues.

    Hi @Vider

Maybe this will help as far as some of your issues above. These are not listed in the order you posted, but here it goes.

    Threat notifications cannot be disabled:

As far as disabling misc notifications/pop-ups, there are some helpful posts here:

As far as Exceptions, see if these steps by @Flexx work for you:

    1) Temporarily disable Bitdefender Protection: https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/28557/

    2) Set exclusion in Bitdefender Antivirus: https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/13427/

    3) Set exclusion in Bitdefender Advanced Threat Defense, which only accepts .exe files: https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/2393/

    4) Re-enable real-time protection in Bitdefender.

    Kind regards,

    Scott

    Hello.

    1 and 3.

Open your Bitdefender program and go to:

    1. Settings -> General and disable "Special offers" and "Recommendation notifications" (for the "Password Manager" notification)

    2. Protection -> Antivirus -> Settings -> Scan flash drives and select "Autoscan" or "Disabled", do not select "Ask every time" (for the "USB Immunizer Recommendation" notification)

    3. Protection -> Antivirus -> Settings -> Scan CD & DVD and select "Autoscan" or "Disabled", do not select "Ask every time" (for the "CD/DVD Recommendation" notification)

    4. Privacy -> Safepay -> Settings and disable "Safepay notifications"

    5. Privacy -> Video & Audio Protection -> Settings and disable "Notify when allowed applications connect to the webcam", "Notify when an application tries to access the microphone" and "Notify when browsers access the microphone"

    6. Utilities -> Profiles -> Settings and disable "Activate profiles automatically" (for the Profile notification)

After doing that, in the future no pop-up notifications will be displayed in the lower right corner of your screen.

REMEMBER: When a threat is detected, a pop-up notification will be displayed in the lower right corner of your screen and you can't disable those pop-up notifications.

Next, as an option to fully disable the Bitdefender alerts and pop-ups, open your Bitdefender program, go to Utilities -> Profiles -> Settings and enable/activate "Work Profile" or "Game Profile".

When "Work Profile" or "Game Profile" is enabled/activated, all Bitdefender alerts and pop-ups are disabled.

Finally, as for the Bitdefender VPN pop-ups, you can simply uninstall Bitdefender VPN from your device by following the steps provided here (just select "Bitdefender VPN"):

    or

open the Bitdefender VPN program, go to Settings -> Notifications and disable "Allow notifications".

It is recommended that you also review the privacy preferences set in your Bitdefender Central account:

    1. On any internet-connected device launch a web browser, visit https://central.bitdefender.com and sign in to your Bitdefender Central account.

    2. Click on your username in the top right corner and select "Bitdefender Account" in the menu. This option will launch in a new browser tab.

    3. Access the "Data & Privacy" tab, then click on the "Privacy preferences" section.

    4. Uncheck both boxes to stop promotional messages:

    - Receive in product insights regarding threats, news, and offers.

    - Receive insights regarding threats, news, and offers via email.

    2.

Open your Bitdefender program, go to: Protection -> Advanced Threat Defense -> Settings and disable/switch off "Expliot detection".

    Regards.

  • @Vider how's it going after applying the above settings? Does it work better for you?

  • Hello, I'm sorry for not responding. But even after I applied the settings, Bitdefender keeps being annoying. I cannot for the love of god stop it from deleting my exploits, even after I added them to the highest level of exceptions. I had to switch off multiple important protections in order for it to not get rid of ONE. And god forbid you try to get another on your system like I tried. I swear, this shit's worse than malware.
