Potential Cause Of Firewall's Alert Mode Self Disabling. Any Help?
One thing i have noticed and please ask your devs to look into this.
If i run a steam game ( one in particular would need to verify with others ) then when EAC gets loaded Easy Anti Cheat , it slides my ALERT slider to disabled. I can visually confirm this on my second monitor and can post a video if necessary.
Although this is not the only instance where ALERT will self disable. I am trying to correlate any event manager activities with the disabling of the ALERT feature, but so far have come up unlucky.
This is a persistent issue. All trouble shooting steps have been taken as per tech advice, and my last step WILL BE a whole re partition and sys reinstall to see if it alleviates the security issue at hand.

Do you have any Profile enabled, or the Profiles set to enable automatically depending on your activity on the PC?

Not sure if you are referring to me. But My last post was to indicate a possible correlation between EAC and the alert slider self disabling.If not no worries. Total repartitions and sys reinstall coming up and we will see if it resolves the issue.

It's true that there have been several reports in the forum concerning the Alert Mode and it seems that this behaviour is encountered occasionally, or in irregular, random instances. For this reason, we are keeping a close eye on the feedback received here, but sometimes duplicate threads can be harder to track, especially if they are a few months away from each other. @Negligence's threads are indeed similar, but the latest one does bring more insight and suggests a possible correlation between EAC and Alert Mode. I cannot pronounce myself here, but let's see if a clean reinstall solves the issue.

At the moment , so far so good, 24 hours in after a partition and format. Rebooted the same game using EAC and no issues now.
If anything changes will keep you updated. Might have been an artifact in my previous registry causing the issue.

Getting the same issue. Fully updated Windows 11 Pro OS.
I activated Alert Mode and it automatically switched off somewhere between 10 and 20 minutes (disabled it at 7:17, checked again at 7:27 and it was still on. Checked back at 7:41 and it was off)
I literally did nothing during that time other than watch a livestream on Youtube. No fiddling around in windows settings, no nothing just. Just sitting there and watching.
Considering the age of this thread, I see it was never a priority for devs to fix this issue of settings getting changed by itself.
I already tried the "solutions" from Gjoksi, they didn't help. Even tried to password protect the settings, didn't work.
Without Alert Mode, this software is unfortunately useless to me. May as well use built-in firewall of windows. Telling people to disable alert mode, like I've seen in another thread is not a fix, it's just ignoring the issue.

The issue initially reported in 2023 is unrelated to the one we are encountering this month. There are a couple of new threads where this behavior has been discussed and the development teams are working on a fix that will be deployed via an automated update. Here are some of the recent forum discussions on this topic.
As it can be noticed, fresh reports concerning the Alert Mode have emerged after the last update that was released at the beginning of March. The situation reported last year was resolved punctually, but apparently this problem has resurfaced for some users following the latest release. At this moment, I can confirm that it is not a widespread situation and we are talking about isolated cases in which this behavior is manifested.
The behavior si currently being investigated by the development teams and it will be corrected in the upcoming build.

I wouldn't say occasionally or irregular, is pretty common. In reddit there are tons of posts about this issue, also just in the first page of this forum there are more than 5 threads about it. I use Bitdefender in my laptop and my main PC. both have the issue. It might seem irregular since the default firewall option for Bitdefender is the automatic mode not the Alert mode and most users use the default option. Probably most user have the issue but they dont notice it because they dont use alert mode. There is also a post here saying that Bitdefender is also letting portscans go on and intrusive connection connect in the default option. So yeah...
