Thanks Phil! 😁

Okay, it would seem in order to re-establish that my subscription IS still within date I have to reboot after resetting the system date. Unfortunately each time I reboot the PC the date changes to a random one in the future. This morning it has decided the year is 2041. Now I may feel 65 this morning after last nights…

Why do this? Why can't it just use the new licence key like the old days? This is stupid.
-
20 minutes ago, Jester said: Go to Bitdefender →Protection→View features→Antivirus→Click on the settings wheel→Drives and devices→Scan CD/DVD and select Disabled. Ah, thank god for that. That was driving me nuts! Thank you.

We all know you can't close bdagent.exe via Task Manager but I NEED to close it because I can't enable SLI with my two GTX 780's otherwise. Since updating the Nvidia drivers I had to re-enable SLI but I get a prompt to close bdagent.exe before it will enable. Well I can't close bdagent.exe can I? so I'm hoping someone…

Given 1 point for inappropriate language, even though I censored the "S" word with a * for the "I"? You think I give a fudge? Give me two. Swearing or bad language isn't listed in your forum rules BTW, thought you should know. I haven't forgotten that time when BitDefender deleted my entire system several years ago when…

Well, since no one could be bothered to answer my post I went ahead and bought one anyway. Yes it does work. You just enter the key that's emailed to you in the registration bit.

Can't edit my own godam post. Adding the file to the firewall application rules to allow is also pointless as BD will then switch it from Allow to Deny by itself, completely ignoring what settings I put in. I applaud BD for it's incredibly high security making me feel pretty flipping safe on the craphole that is the…

Ah, solved it. It wasn't BitDefender blocking it, it was Firefox itself. Could not for the life of me figure out how unblock it until I clicked the lego icon in the address bar where it allowed me to click Allow. Problem solved!
-
Also, have tried uninstalling Java 7 and re-installing it - javascript still being blocked.
-
The settings are just stored on your browser. Just close your browser and open it again. It should be working for you after that. Nope, still being blocked.
-
You could try saving the new versions in a new location via 'save as' and then start windows in safe mode to replace the files in the correct location if you really want to go down the route of manipulating the image files. You have to take 100% responsibility for the stability and operation of the program afterwards.…

not that I know of. you can hide it by clicking the cross. to show it again use the task tray icon and click show security widget. I found all the png files that make up the gadget and set all their opacity to 135 but can't save them because the files are in use - even if I disable the gadget before hand.
-
Sorry for the delay replying. It worked by installing the drivers in safe mode.
-
Thanks to the mod who moved my thread. I have uninstalled 2012 and put 2011 back. 2012 is a joke.
-
Well I did what you said, I installed 2012. Then I uninstalled it again and put 2011 back. Seriously? you think 2012 is an improvement?! Yes the sand box feature is a great new addition and something I've been waiting for for years but the rest of the program is very poor. 1. Exclusions don't work (yes I did follow the…

I've posted this in the wrong forum. Can't delete it and or some reason the Edit button has disappeared.
-
Can't even kill the bdagent.exe process or stop the VSSERV service; BD really is a pretty secure piece of software isn't it? It should have a kill switch so you can exit the program entirely.

@D_May, no sign of a "sorry"? Come on, they wrote: "We regret that we put you through this inconvenient experience" in that email. Yeah, they "regret" not they're "sorry", means two completely different things. Which sounds better: "We regret that we put you through this inconvenient experience". Or "We are sorry that we…

Wow 82 pages, that's phenomenal. Bit Defender has sent me an email explaining a few things about "the incident" but there's no sign of a "sorry". They have given me another 6 month extension to my license though. That's nice but I'm still moving on when it's up. I have one seemingly permanent scar from this issue and that…

Can I just ask my namesake DanyDan a question? I appreciate you're a busy man right now but can you just confirm to me that the following is what it should be? Virus Signatures 5474032 Engine Version 7.30848 Last updated: today at 14:39 I'm running 64 bit version of Internet Security 2010 on Vista Ultimate 64 bit SP1.

I suppose in hindsight this debacle is less likely to happen again. I'll stick with BD until my license runs out in 275 days then I'm sorry but It's time to move on. So I turned on my PC for the first time today since I appeared to get back to normality last night. The only thing I've found so far not working is Firefox so…

@gyp371: @Okky: Everything should work ok now for both Windows and BitDefender, feel free to remove all quarantined files. Just to be certain you can look in the location specified in the Quarantine and see if you have the file already listed (i.e. you see in Quarantine the file C:\Windows\System32\qwe123.dll then you need…
-
You do all realise this is the perfect opportunity for some ****** kiddie to infect thousands of PC's that are currently unprotected due to Bit Defender's AV shield being turned off, don't you?
-
I ran system restore twice back to the 17th. The first attempt didn't work, well it appeared to at least but gave the same message about KBDUK.DLL being corrupt afterwards. After a re-boot Windows informed me the restore didn't work for some such reason I forget. Tried again in safe mode however and that has indeed worked.…

D May, your not alone my friend! Same boat as you! sigh Okay, changed BIOS so that the only boot device was my DVD drive (disabled the HDD). Then re-booted off the Vista disc. Clicked on Repair Windows, only took about 30 seconds and then I re-booted, put back the HDD as second boot device and re-booted again. Waited until…
-
Sorry to stuff this thread even more but I have "first re-boot since the f'up" news. After restoring all the quarantine files I could and making back-ups of my data I then ran the BD update then re-booted. Straight away I get this message: Winlogon.exe - Bad Image C:\Windows\System32\KBDUK.DLL contains an error. It still…
-
Gahh, by the time I posted that someone already posted it several pages previous.
-
Found this hiding away on BD's US pages, no wonder I couldn't find anything here there's f'all about this on the UK site. Due to a recent update it is possible that BitDefender detects several Windows and BitDefender files as infected with Trojan.FakeAlert.5 . In order to solve this issue you will have to perform these…

FFS can someone post a link here for the manual update files. What engine version is the safe one? Mine is 7.30848.
